Dear Brother Usman,

I received your letter yesterday. I am glad to hear about your progress in studies. Your keen interest in your studies will pay you one day. You are dear to me and your success is my success. So I would like to give some pieces of advice to you relating to your studies.

Dear, hard work is a key of success. Along with hard work regularity and punctuality play a vital role for a successful life. If you do not attend your classes regularly, missed lessons will put an extra pressure on you and you will not be able to make up your deficiency in your studies. Set a time table and work accordingly. Do not put till tomorrow what you can do today. In this way you will be able to learn everything easily and properly.

Secondary attractions are the main obstacle in the way to success. They tend to captivate young men. Take part in extracurricular activities in a moderate way. Your major work in your studies,  Don’t neglect them and laways pay proper attention to them. Always try to make your concepts clear. Prepare your lessons again and again. As you know, practice makes a man perfect. In case of any short of difficulty never hesitate to consult your teacher. Do not be proud of your previous success and always carry on your efforts to improve yourself.

My prayers are always with you.

Your loving Brother

Letter to Brother Advising him to Take Interest in Studies

I hope this letter will find you hale and hearty. I am sorry I could not write you earlier. Actually, I was waiting for the result of my 1st term examination, so that I could inform you. I have got the result now. But, I am sorry I have failed badly in physics and chemistry. But Dad! Believe me; it is not due to my negligence or lack of interest in studies at all. My failure is due to the following reasons.

Firstly, our lecture on physics was transferred unexpectedly and the lecturer in his place joined very late. So, we could not learn lot of important lessons during this time. Secondly, this time district cricket tournament took place near the examination. As you know, I am the captain of the team, so I had to provide a lot of time there. I could not manage my time table properly and it affected my studies very much.

Out of frying pan into the fire, I fell ill a few days before my examination. It added to my difficulties. I could not find proper time for the preparation of physics and chemistry. My performance in other papers was also affected due to my illness. Now I have decided to make up my deficiency in these subjects. Insha-Allah I promise to show you good result in the Annual Examination.

Write a letter to father Explaining the Cause of Failure

I am very glad to receive your kind letter. Thanks god almighty that everybody at home is hale and hearty. In your letter you have asked me about my progress in studies. Dad, you will be glad to know that I have secured good marks in the last college examination. I got reasonable marks in all subjects but in chemistry and mathematics I could not do well. It does not mean that these subjects are beyond my understanding and interest. Actually I could not provide sufficient time to revise these subjects.

My December test is at hand. Now days, I am working hard for it. I have decided to make deficiency in these subjects. I often take my teachers help in this regard. Besides, some special classes in these subjects are being arranged by our professors. I have decided to attend them.

Last time, I lost my first division in Urdu for two marks. Now, I will try my best to get it. English grammar is my weakness, so I am working very hard to grip it. I take extensive notes and revise them Insha-Allah, I hope to top the list in aggregate in the annual examination. I need your prayers and blessings of God almighty.

Pay my regards to mother and love to youngsters.

Your loving son
